Putney Sainsbury's Announces Partnership with the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability

9 September 2011
The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN) has been chosen as Putney Sainsbury’s charity of the year.  This partnership will help raise crucial funds so that the RHN can continue to provide vital care for adults living with profound disabilities. The initiative will be launched on Saturday 10 September with a special event at the Sainsbury’s store on Werther Road, Putney.

Over the next year, there will be many special fundraising events in-store devised jointly between Sainsbury’s and the RHN.  These promotions will include Christmas carolling, promotion of Brain Awareness Week and a Summer Garden Market, to name a few.

Anna Wall-Budden, Community & Events Executive at the RHN says:

“We are absolutely thrilled to have been chosen as Putney Sainsbury’s Charity of the Year for 2011 – 2012.  We hope the relationship will help not only to raise vital funds for our patients and residents, but also that it will increase awareness of brain injury and the RHN in the local community.”

A spokesperson for Sainsbury’s adds:

“We’re excited to be supporting the RHN as our Charity of the Year for 2011 and 2012. We chose the RHN not only because they are based here in Putney, but also because we have heard first-hand from a member of our team how incredible their work really is. We hope we can do our bit to help fund the care given to their patients and residents.’’

The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability is a national medical charity helping people who are affected by brain injury.  Some have been in car accidents, been mugged or might simply have fallen down the stairs. Others have had a stroke, a heart attack, or have an illness affecting their brain such as multiple sclerosis or Huntington’s disease.

The RHN offers an extensive range of rehabilitation and long-term care services, including specialist therapies and state of the art technology - giving the people we care for the best possible quality of life, whatever their level of ability.
