Neuropsychology
Adjusting to life with disability requires determination from both patients and families. Our neuropsychologists find the motivations and behaviours a patient needs to draw on their inner strengths so they can begin adjusting to a life with disability.
How we help
We assess each patient’s levels of thought and cognition, talking to them and those who know them so that we can paint a picture of the personal passions and hobbies they enjoyed before their disabilities.
We then work with the positive experiences from their past to shape a new future. This helps them to:
|
- |
explore goals for their future. |
|
- |
develop ways to overcome issues affected by their disabilities, including mood, memory, perception, and distress. |
|
- |
plan practically for every aspect of their future care needs, be it in long-term care or returning home. |
