Nursing

“Everybody at the RHN has a smile on their face. I’m sure they all have problems of their own, but you would never know - the atmosphere is so warm and relaxed.” Bob whose wife, Denise, has Huntington’s Disease.

Our team of neuro-disability nurses are invaluable to the level of care we are able to provide to every single person who comes to stay with us. Welcoming and friendly, they not only look after people’s individual  everyday needs - including hygiene, hydration and nutrition - they spend time with them, engaging with them and getting to know them.

It’s this kind of personal approach to care that makes a real difference to our patients, residents and their relatives, and helps our team of traditional and specialist therapists better tailor treatment and activities around a patient’s personality, likes and dislikes.

We are fortunate to have on-site specialist nurses with expertise in:

- tissue viability;
- infection control;
- continence; and
- clinical education.

Plus, we have a high number of nurses per patient which enables us to consistently achieve extremely low incident rates of healthcare associated infections and pressure ulcers.
