Recreation & Leisure

Balancing treatment with recreational activities and personal pursuits is a fundamental aspect of our holistic approach to care, not only because it can aid relaxation, but because it can improve a person’s overall confidence and sense of identity, helping them to lead a healthy and active life.

How we help
We offer over 90 different types of activities to people who come to stay with us. And, for residents in our long-term care, we help them choose a range of activities they can enjoy throughout their day, taking care to bring the experience to them if they are unable to go out.

For some, this might mean watching a favourite film on television or listening to a best-selling book on audio; for others, it might involve interacting with other residents in specially adapted team sports, or even going on a family holiday.

Our activities are tailored to those in long-term care; some are open to everyone, including patients, families, volunteers and staff.

Our activities include:
- art and music workshops
- pool activities and adapted sports such as boccia
- computer access with specially adapted software
- televisions for personal and group enjoyment
- holidays and days out in the UK and abroad
- musical and theatrical performances
- culturally diverse celebrations
- massage therapy
- family events and activities
- gardening, games and more.
