At the RHN, we place great emphasis on research. Only by seeking to advance the science of care for individuals with neuro-disabilities can treatment, and therefore long-term quality of life, be improved.

Our academic work
Our academic arm - the Institute of Neuropalliative Rehabilitation - researches and informs clinical development in the care of people with rare, complex and chronic neurological disabilities, and shares knowledge with other specialist clinicians and academics around the world.

In brief, we:

- carry out vital research in new clinical developments and clinical practice.
- provide information and guidelines to families, professionals and policymakers about brain injury, neurological illnesses and neurological conditions.
- train and educate, from workshops and courses to conferences and seminars, we run programmes to educate professionals, inform clinical development and stimulate interest in specialist areas of neurological disability. (click here to see our upcoming courses and training)
- share knowledge, supporting international collaboration and knowledge-sharing around neurological conditions.
- influence policy, developing and influencing international standards and policy formation.
