How to apply If you would like to apply for a role at the RHN, please download a PDF application pack (90k PDF).
Please ensure you enclose all five forms, or your application will not be processed. You may also send a CV, although this can not be submitted in place of an application form. Please clearly mark your envelope for the attention of the contact person named in the advert, and send to the following address:
Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability West Hill Putney London SW15 3SW
All vacancies have an application closing date which can be found in the vacancy details. If you are shortlisted we will contact you either by telephone, e-mail or in writing to invite you for an interview, usually within 2 weeks of the closing date.
Pre-employment checks The RHN is required, under the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, to establish the right of prospective employees to work within the UK. This will require the presentation of a current passport and supporting documentation from the Home Office. Please note, further checks and advice form the Home Office may be sought to confirm the validity of documentation and employment status.
As a provider in the nursing and care sector, the RHN is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is therefore able to ask about convictions during the recruitment process. We are required under employment legislation to make Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and POVA (Protection of Vulnerable Adults) checks on behalf on all successful appointees prior to commencement of employment.
The RHN will seek at least two satisfactory references from current or previous employers. Where this is not possible, character references may be accepted.
Proof of qualifications, professional membership and training will be necessary, particularly where this is required for the role.
In addition to these requirements, employment is also dependent on successful medical clearance and a minimum three month probationary period.
The RHN makes recruitment decisions that are objective and based on an appointee’s skills and abilities in light of the needs of the post.
Benefits and training All RHN employees have access to full development opportunities suitable to meet the needs of the role and designed to underpin our dedication to the delivery of a quality service for our patients. We are a committed Investor in People, having been audited and reaccredited with the award in January 2009 for the fifth time.
We offer a full induction programme for all employees. This programme is compulsory and helps employees to settle in quickly, better understand how we work and gain the knowledge they need to start supporting our patients.
We provide a range of benefits for employees including: - pension scheme
- occupational health service
- nine different health benefit schemes
- interest free season ticket loan for employees who live outside the perimeter of the M25
- Personal Accident Plan (you can choose any level of cover for yourself and your family)
