Transitional Rehabilitation Service at Haberdashers House.
Part of the Royal Hospital for Neurodisability in South West London, the Transitional Rehabilitation Service provides individualised social model neurorehabilitation programmes for adults with physical, cognitive, communication, behavioural and emotional difficulties following brain injury.
The emphasis of the programme is to enable people with a brain injury to optimise their skills and abilities, to regain independence and a meaningful life and return successfully to living in the community.
The successful applicant will join a well integrated interdisciplinary team, ensuring that rehabilitation strategies and techniques recommended by the team are implemented consistently. You will be willing to work flexibly to meet people’s programmes over the 24 hour period including working weekends, nights and bank holidays.
A background or experience in a disability, social care or nursing setting would be an advantage, as would experience of working as part of a team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is an understanding of the challenges faced by people with acquired brain injuries and a commitment to providing practical physical and emotional support and care to meet individuals’ needs, while seeking to maximise their independence.
