Introduction to Casting in Neurology

After the event

This two day course, for physiotherapists and occupational therapists, offered a theoretical and practical introduction to casting complex neurological patients.

It focused on,

  • an interdisciplinary view on the role of Scotch and soft splinting in the management of complex disability
  • encouraging joint occupational therapy and physiotherapy reasoning and practical working
  • an integration of splinting into interdisciplinary practice, including a review of the splinting guidelines and medical presentation on hypertonicity management
  • a strong practical component with the opportunity to fabricate upper and lower limb splints with all materials provided to enable learning to be directly applied to practice.
