Open lecture – Predicting and prescribing physical health care needs for people with chronic neurological disability
We are delighted to host this online lecture by our Consultant Physiotherapist Teresa Clark on Predicting and prescribing physical health care needs for people with chronic neurological disability.
Severe brain injury and chronic neurological disability (CND) are associated with secondary impairments, severe physical limitations and increasing complexity of care with unpredictable outcomes.
People with chronic neurological disabilities need proactive support from expert health care professionals to guide their life long management and prevent physical deterioration, but the available evidence is sparse and difficult to engage with.
This lecture aims to reduce the uncertainty of decision making in the management of spasticity, splinting, serial casting and postural management by exploring the underpinning evidence base and sharing RHN experiences of supporting the longer term needs of people with CND.
