British Bobath Tutors Association (BBTA): Gait Training

The BBTA is an organisation of IBITA registered Bobath tutors in the UK specialising in the assessment and treatment of adults with neurological impairment using the Bobath concept. This course is physiotherapists and occupational therapists looking to refine their skills with gait in patients with a neuro-disability.

Course objectives

By completing this course, you will:

  • Review and consolidate key features of human locomotion, with reference to biomechanics, postural control, motor control and neurophysiology
  • Develop and refine movement analysis skills in relation to typical and atypical movement components of gait
  • Develop therapeutic handling skills and treatments to improve gait in neurological patient

This programme to be delivered with lectures, interactive and practical sessions and a patient workshop.
