Hunter Ward Refurbishment Appeal

Hunter Ward is in urgent need of refurbishment. Built decades ago, the ward lacks the modern amenities and infrastructure crucial for quality neuro-disability care. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has highlighted the ward’s shortcomings, noting the lack of privacy and the “institutional rather than homely atmosphere.” This simply isn’t good enough for the incredible residents who call Hunter Ward home.

Your Help Can Transform Lives

The refurbishment of Hunter Ward is expected to cost £3.6m and we’re already well on the way to reaching our target. Work will start soon on the electrical and plumbing systems, but we’d like your support to put the finishing touches to the ward, by supporting the refurbishment of each of the sixteen, private bedrooms.

It will cost £30,000 to refurbish each bedroom, include new flooring, built-in hoists for moving patients in and out of bed, piped medical gases, new washing facilities, temperature control, lighting, and of course new furniture.
