Third Annual Gala Dinner

Last week the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability held its third, and most successful, annual gala dinner at the Goldsmiths’ Company. The event was again generously sponsored by HLR .

The top table was hosted by our president, the Countess of Lichfield, and other tables by our vice-president, Ruth Maxwell, our chairman Des Benjamin, and corporate partners Brewin Dolphin, Allan Fuller Estate Agents, Russell Cooke, Axa PPP Healthcare and Cowan Architects.

Guests were entertained at a champagne reception by table magicians, Nick Reade and Stephen James, pianist Julian O’Kelly, and once they were seated by singer Marianne Benedict. Toastmaster Ted Prior steered the evening, and the wine was generously donated by  Cillar de Silos.

After dinner guests were led through the auction by celebrity auctioneer, Jonty Hearnden. Head of the Brian Injury Service, Lesley Mill, gave a moving speech about her pride in the rehabilitation work undertaken at the RHN, and the new state-of-the-art Therapy Hub, which will revolutionise how we do rehabilitation, and will be built later this year. The evening raised £80k, all of which will be used for the Therapy Hub.
