Our fundraising pledge

We follow a strict code of ethics when working with our supporters. Our fundraising pledge is our promise to you.

The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability is registered with the Fundraising Regulator, which means that we agree to ensure our fundraising is legal, open, honest and respectful.

This is our fundraising pledge. Please be assured that:

We commit to high standards

  • we adhere to the Fundraising Regulator’s code of fundraising practice
  • our fundraising is legal and follows best practice guidelines
  • we display the Fundraising Regulator badge on our fundraising material to show we are committed to good practice
  • we do not use door to door, telephone cold calling or street ‘chuggers’

We’re clear, honest and open

  • we’re clear about who we are and what we do
  • we do what we say we’ll do with donations we receive
  • we clearly explain how you can make a gift or change a regular donation
  • we will be transparent about our fundraising costs

We are respectful

  • we respect your rights and your privacy
  • we won’t sell or pass on your details to other charities or commercial companies
  • you can be removed from our mailing lists at any time you wish
  • we won’t put pressure on you to give – and if you want to stop giving, we will respect your decision

We’re fair and reasonable

  • we treat donors fairly and sensitively, and adapt our approach depending on your needs
  • we take care not to use any images or words that intentionally cause distress or anxiety
  • we take care not to cause nuisance or disruption to the public

We’re accountable and responsible

  • we won’t ever knowingly accept donations from supporters who don’t have the mental capacity to give
  • we manage our resources responsibly, and consider the impact of our fundraising on our donors, supporters and the wider public
  • our complaints procedure is available on request – find out more on our contact us page
  • we monitor and record the number of complaints we receive each year, and share this data with the Fundraising Regulator on request
