What to bring

We know there may be lots of questions about what you should bring with you to the hospital.

Being admitted to hospital can be an uncertain time, so we have put together a list of what to bring to help you prepare

Current prescriptions

Please bring all existing prescriptions including medication, glasses, dressings and hearing aids. This is important for the continuity of care. Where possible please bring the original labelled packaging of each item, as this will help us to repeat prescriptions.

Personal toiletries

Please bring toiletries, but don’t worry if you forget something as you can order a selection of items  through the ward and some things are available to purchase from the Morris Room shop.

Personal clothing

If you are coming to the RHN for rehabilitation, please bring enough clothing to last for at least a few days, including outdoor wear and practical shoes. If you are going to be staying with us for longer term care, please bring sufficient comfortable clothing.

We recommend that clothes are loose-fitting, easy to wash, durable and individually labelled with your full name and ward name code (you can get this from the ward manager).

We recommend using Clipper woven iron or sew-on labels. You can order these direct from Clipper 0870 745 4853  or from our Patient Administrator 020 8780 4500 ext. 5001.

Money

You will need money to buy everyday items such as newspapers and snacks. Our Patients’ Money System will help you to keep your money secure during your time with us.

Personal items

Please feel free to bring photographs, pictures, books and any other belongings that will help you make your space personal. If you have items relating to your hobbies and interests bring them too, as we may be able to incorporate into your care.

*Please note, we cannot take any responsibility for the loss, damage or theft of personal belongings, including clothing. We recommend that you ask your family or carer to look after your valuables for you.
