What’s at the hospital

There are a number of facilities and areas at the hospital which patients and visitors are welcome to use


Reed's restaurantRestaurant

Our restaurant Reed’s is on the ground floor along the main corridor. Overlooking the gardens it’s a great place to sit and enjoy the view. Here you can buy hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, pastries, snacks and hot food. There is also a range of foods available for people with special food texture requirements.

Opening hours:

  • Monday to Friday – 7.30am – 5pm
  • Saturday and Sunday – 10am – 4pm

Carers

Carers’ Corner – ground floor

Carers’ Corner is a place where you can meet other families, patients and residents, and to find out what’s going on around the hospital.

On the ground floor in The View, there is useful information on hand, such as information on the conditions we work with and how we work, details of local support agencies and services and a programme of upcoming RHN events and activities.

There is also a computer with internet access that you can use here and a selection of games and books for children to enjoy when they visit.

Music

A resident borrows a CD from the Wenham Music Library

Wenham Music Library – ground floor, off the main corridor, opposite Carer’s Corner

The Wenham Music Library offers the latest releases and an extensive back catalogue of various specialist genres including rock, reggae, new age, rap, classical, opera, pop and jazz. Portable CD players are available for patients to use.

The Music Library is open most days, Monday to Friday, but if you want to use it when it’s not open, please visit the Leisure and Family Services Office just next door. There is also a trolley service that visits each ward.

Computers and IT

Capsticks computer room – ground floor, off the main corridor

You can use a range of computers all with internet access. It is open between 10.30am and 3.30pm with a member of staff always there to provide IT support.

Wi-Fi access

There is free wi-fi access throughout the hospital. If you’d like to connect a device to the network, you can visit the Capsticks computer room for help, ask a ward manager or staff on reception.

Spiritual

Faith and religious services – ground floor

We have a chaplain who offers pastoral, spiritual and emotional support, whatever your faith or beliefs. The chapel is on the ground floor and open every day as a quiet space for private reflection, meditation and prayer. It is also a place for community services of worship.

Our award winning gardens are open every day for you and your visitors to enjoy.

Hairdressing – ground floor opposite The View

We have our own on site hair salon. To book an appointment, please contact your ward manager.

Fundraising

Fundraising team – two floors up from Reed’s

Through charity appeals, events, donations from individuals, trusts and legacies, the team need to raise over £2.7 million each year to provide services, therapies and equipment. To contact the Fundraising team, call 020 8780 4567 or email fundraising@rhn.org.uk.

Incoming mail – Incoming mail is received by the post room and taken daily to the individual wards

Delivery of goods/gifts
Please inform main reception as well as the ward/department if you are sending goods/gifts, especially large or fragile items to the hospital on behalf of a patient or resident.
Please state the name of the receiver and sender.

Outgoing mail – There is a post box situated on the ground floor near the main entrance, opposite lift 1
